Knife & Axe Carving/ Folk Forest

Description

Nadine works with greenwood and traditional hand tools, specialising in spoon/bowl carving and
bespoke, handmade furniture. She is part of the Ecclesall woods craft team and her handmade furniture
and carvings are made in a traditional way by hand with local timber.

Nadine will be offering 1 and a half hour taster sessions in carving with a knife and an axe

11.00 – 12.30 Carve a butter knife/letter opener

Learn to use an axe safely to create the shape of your carving and then learn a handful of knife

grips to get you started in the skill of whittling.

1.30 – 3.00 Carve a spatula.

Please wear appropriate footware for using sharp tools, no sandals or open toes please.

Anybody who is deemed to be intoxicated will be refused entry to the workshop
